Shirley Spence is a writer, management professional, and educator. Currently, she is a researcher and writer with the Cambridge Institute for Family Enterprise, where she examines trends in today's turbulent age and their impact on family enterprises.
Shirley has co-authored several books including—with Professor Howard Stevenson of Harvard Business School (HBS)—one about wealth and families, and another about the social impact of business school alumni. She has also written more than 50 case studies and related educational materials as a research associate at HBS.
During her 26 years with Mercer Management Consulting (now Oliver Wyman) and in private practice, Shirley consulted to private and public sector clients around the world on strategic and organizational issues.
Born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Shirley speaks fluent English and French.
