Dr. Hatzenbuehler is a Professor of Psychology at Harvard, where he directs a lab that studies the health effects of various forms of stigma and discrimination. He received the 2023 Gold Medal Award from the American Psychological Foundation, which recognizes lifetime achievement in the field. He is an elected fellow of the Academy of Behavioral Medicine Research, the premier honorary organization for scientists working at the intersection of behavior and medicine, and was voted a favorite professor by the Harvard Class of 2023.
