Today's business environment sees an accelerating rate of technological change, unprecedented competition, and increased globalization. With large multinational companies dominating the world's competitive landscape, family companies must step up their game in order to survive. The globalization of industries will continue growing in the future, and family companies will need to adapt.

The latest research from the Cambridge Institute for Family Enterprises (CIFE) explores the impact of globalization on family companies and on the families that own and manage these companies. Our survey questionnaire rendered nearly 5,000 completed surveys among nine countries, from businesses of different industries, sizes, ages and ownership structures. In addition, our in-depth interviews of business leaders from family companies around the world give way to a deep understanding of the experiences, challenges and opportunities for family businesses as a result of globalization, including what makes some family companies more successful than others in their internationalization strategies.

The findings of this study will be published in a white paper.
