Ernesto Poza is a senior advisor and associate partner at Cambridge Advisors to Family Enterprise, a highly specialized international advisory firm serving family enterprises, and a fellow at Cambridge Institute for Family Enterprise, a leading education and research institute dedicated to the significant issues family enterprises face. Both organizations comprise Cambridge Family Enterprise Group, a global organization founded in 1989. It is devoted to helping families achieve multigenerational success for their families, enterprises, and financial wealth.
Professor Poza is an internationally recognized leader in family business, education, research and advising. He is Professor Emeritus of Global Entrepreneurship and Family Business at the Thunderbird School of Global Management. Professor Poza’s areas of expertise include family business, strategic management, succession planning, family governance and global entrepreneurship. He serves as a board member and advisor to large, family-owned and family-controlled firms around the world.
Prof. Poza is author of the textbook, Family Business, 4th edition, which provides the next generation of family business owners the knowledge and skills needed for the successful management and leadership of their family enterprise. He has authored and coauthored numerous publications, and his work has been featured on CNN, NBC, NPR and in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Expansión, Business Week, Fortune Small Business, Inc., Family Business Magazine and other publications.
Prof. Poza is a founding member and Fellow of the Family Firm Institute. He received his M.S. in Management from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and his B.S. in Organization and Management from Yale University. He completed postgraduate coursework in the Organizational Behavior doctoral program at Case Western University and the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
