Gustavo Gonzaga is senior advisor and partner at Cambridge Family Enterprise Group–Brazil, a highly specialized, international advisory, education and research organization serving family enterprises. Founded in 1989, it is devoted to helping families achieve multigenerational success for their families, enterprises, and financial wealth.
Mr. Gonzaga advises family-owned enterprises on the design and implementation of their wealth creation strategies and governance models. He supports his clients in integrating their ownership, family, and business goals and priorities to build shareholder value and realize their vision for the family enterprise. Mr. Gonzaga has worked with family enterprises of different sizes, generations and industries throughout Brazil. He has also served on the board of directors of family-owned companies in a range of different industry sectors.
Since 2012, Mr. Gonzaga has advised the owners and senior executives of family-owned businesses at São Paulo-based Bridge Business Advisors. In 2017, the firm merged with Cambridge Family Enterprise Group–Brazil to serve Brazilian multigenerational families and family-owned businesses on business strategies, family office strategies, ownership strategies, and family strategies.
Mr. Gonzaga has deep experience as a board member and executive in Brazil and internationally. He lived in Argentina for three years and developed business in Peru, Colombia, and Bolivia. He served on the board of a publicly-listed mining and steel company in Colombia. For ten years, he worked at Votorantim Group, one of the largest, family-owned conglomerates in Brazil. As International Business Director, he was responsible for Votorantim’s mining and steel business in Colombia and Argentina. Prior to that role, he led the acquisition, and then the post-acquisition integration, of a steel company in Argentina as the Executive Director. Mr. Gonzaga also worked with business development, leading the merger & acquisition process in a metals and mining business. Earlier in his career, he worked as Business Director with a venture capital firm in Brazil and as a business consultant with IBM and Arthur Andersen.
Mr. Gonzaga graduated in Mechanical Engineering and received his Masters Degree in Operational Research. He is fluent in his native Portuguese, Spanish, and English.
