Dr. Dan DeGooyer is an education portfolio director at Cambridge Institute for Family Enterprise, a leading education and research institute dedicated to the significant issues family enterprises face. Cambridge Institute for Family Enterprise and Cambridge Advisors to Family Enterprise, a highly specialized global advisory firm, are both divisions of Cambridge Family Enterprise Group, a global organization founded in 1989. It is devoted to helping families and ownership groups navigate the new economy and achieve multigenerational success for their families, enterprises, and financial wealth.

Dr. DeGooyer’s career spans 20 years of teaching, consulting, and instructional design. Dr. DeGooyer has authored publications on problem solving, organizing and organizational communication, and co-authored publications on team effectiveness, and interpersonal relationships. In addition to his publications, he has consulted in problem solving and coached and facilitated student teams at Harvard Business School and MIT Sloan to increase self-awareness and effectiveness in their interpersonal skills and to accelerate team building and establish effective team-based learning practices. He has in-depth experience in designing courses across the communication and business disciplines emphasizing applied outcomes that impact participants’ personal and professional lives.

He directs education programming, including CFEG webinars, as well as programs from the portfolio of open enrollment programs and private custom workshops for audiences worldwide. These programs span a wide range of topics, including Compounding Your Family’s Wealth. In addition, Dr. DeGooyer designs private custom workshops for individual families and organizations, collaborating with a team of faculty around the world, covering relevant topics and action planning tailored to each family enterprise’s goals.

Dr. DeGooyer earned his PhD in Communication Studies from the University of Iowa, an MBA from Bentley University, an MA in Communication Studies from the University of Montana, and a BA in Communication Studies from the University of Utah.
